BrM 7.0 Patch (v7.0.1)

Since the last product update, we have been hard at work assisting agencies through successful BrM 7.0 installations and database migrations. Throughout this process, we have been resolving user reported findings in real time as part of our dedication to supporting users as they prepare to go live with BrM 7.0. These fixes have been accumulated and are now available in the BrM 7.0.1 patch release.

What’s Included?:

Please review the release notes which explain all the updates included in this patch release.

Installation Package:

Non-hosted agencies, please request access to the BrM 7.0.1 installation package through Mayvue via a JIRA service management ticket (support.mayvue.com) or by emailing support@mayvue.com. A ShareFile link will be provided with all necessary installation files, database scripts, and other pertinent information to install and run BrM 7.0.1.

Hosted agencies will work with Mayvue to ensure a plan is in place to transition to BrM 7.0.1 with Mayvue’s help.

What’s Next?:  Upcoming releases include an API release (BrM 7.0.2) with enhancements to API documentation and authentication and another patch release (BrM 7.0.3) to resolve any additional user tickets submitted prior to April 21, 2025.

BrM 7.1: Development Update

Development on the next version of BrM, version 7.1, continues full steam ahead! This release focuses on the Optimizer and BrM management modules.

The first three planned walk-throughs are complete and included an overview of many features including General and Modeling Configurations, Reports, Scheduled Tasks, and portions of the Projects, Programs, and Analysis tabs. The final walk-through, #4, will take place on March 20th.

The BrM 7.1 beta test site has been sent to the Testing TAG and agencies that contributed to the solicitation and will continue to be updated leading up to the traditional beta testing period. Starting in the June 2025 , beta testers will receive an installation package for testing the BrM 7.1 software within their agency’s environment. Release of BrM 7.1 is planned for August 2025.  For access to the BrM 7.1 recorded walk-through session(s), please contact the AASHTOWare BrM Associate Product Manager Ben Sade (bsade@aashto.org).

BrM 7.2 Work Plan Review

The BrM Task Force is currently reviewing and prioritizing items to be included in the next major product release – BrM 7.2. With this release, users can expect product improvements including changes to adhere to WCAG 2.2 ADA guidelines, API enhancements such as Field Level Security and integration with Open Telemetry, and enhancements from the user group’s priority list. More information on the scope and schedule of the BrM 7.2 release will be shared when plans are finalized.

AASHTOWare Connect

The registration portal is now open for the AASHTOWare Connect conference – formerly known as the AASHTO Innovation Summit – to be held April 22-24 in Providence, RI.

AASHTOWare Connect is a forum for AASHTOWare users and software vendors to come together and navigate the evolving transportation technology landscape, share insights, and foster meaningful connections.

The meeting will build upon key discussions from past summits —such as digital delivery, AASHTOWare OpenAPI, and the AASHTOWare Alliance Program—while also addressing new transportation software challenges.

The event will also help attendees explore how AASHTOWare and other software solutions can be seamlessly integrated to advance transportation goals.

AASHTOWare OpenAPI

The BrM 7.0 release is connected to AASHTOWare OpenAPI, revolutionizing how data is shared between BrM and other applications, whether another AASHTOWare product, an AASHTOWare strategic partner, or non-accredited third-party software.

The goal is for all data to be pushed and/or pulled through AASHTOWare OpenAPI, which provides the framework of appropriate access, permissions, and validity checks, as well as standardizes how data is exchanged for all AASHTOWare products.

Agencies are strongly encouraged to plan for their integration needs when transitioning to BrM 7.0 or higher. Agencies should recognize that their integrations will need to be rebuilt regardless because BrM 7.0 has a new database. Therefore, AASHTOWare OpenAPI should be leveraged to complete these integrations. AASHTO, the Task Force, WSP (AASHTOWare OpenAPI contractor), and Mayvue are here to help agencies determine the next steps, plan accordingly, and/or help complete the integration work if needed.

As mentioned above, an API release (BrM 7.0.2) is planned to be released this spring and will include enhancements to API documentation and authentication.  BrDR integration has also been one of the top priorities for development and will be provided with the BrM 7.1 release for version BrDR 7.7.

BrM Hosted-Only Solution (FY2029)

Agencies are encouraged to begin planning for the transition to cloud-hosted software now. Effective July 1, 2028 (start of FY2029), BrM will transition to a cloud-hosted solution only. This decision aligns with industry standards and ensures a consistent, high-quality user experience.  The next generation of Cloud Hosting offerings will be available in the FY2026 AASHTOWare catalog. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the AASHTOWare BrM Product Director (Ryan Fragapane rfragapane@aashto.org) to start a discussion.
